This morning at 10:59, the sentencing hearing of Robert Hawkins began. It was a lengthy affair, with some victim’s impact statements being read, some testimony about letters which had been submitted on behalf of Mr. Hawkins by other teachers and some students. More details to follow, but wanted to get this information posted quickly. The sentence imposed was 11 1/2 months to 23 months at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. At 12:11 p.m. Mr. Hawkins was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs.
While one might hope this would be the end of things, discussions about other teachers’ knowledge of the affair and whether Mr. Hawkins would be required to testify truthfully at upcoming arbitration hearings (presumably where those teachers are looking to be reinstated) means that this matter has not been put to rest.
More posts will follow with details.

This is such bulls–t. Granted, the guy used awful judgement, but a year in jail? And the other dude who took a pic of a naked student gets nothing? This County is is so corrupt; it blows.
No you are wrong, the teacher received the photo and it was of a former student whom was already graduated from high school at the time of the photo… I feel justice was served in sending him to prison but I agree it should not have been a year, maybe 6 months and then loss of license and maybe even sex offender registry.
I have to agree with Mr. Jenkins’ first two statements. Since I am not a citizen of Bucks County, I cannot comment on the remaining part of his commentary. However, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH PEOPLE!!! You have his blood, what else do you want? You have your example, and yet you’re still wanting to go after those teachers who have worked years in the educational field, as had Robert Hawkins, to continue this unending drama of Bucks County. Give me a break!
Maybe Hawkins isn’t talking about what other teachers knew because – NOW GET THIS POSSIBILITY – maybe they truly did not know!!!!!! So it’s like they want him to hang people to provide the blood the district wants as opposed to really being concerned for the students they serve. And as far as this girl having been so wonderful before Hawkins’ ill deeds, that is far from what I hear.
